Open Gym Schedule:

This week, there are two open gyms:

• Mon, 10/20 from 6:00am – 7:30am (due to player interest meeting)
• Thu, 10/23 from 6:15pm - 7:45pm

🏀 Player & Parent Interest Meeting:

All winter sport participants — including basketball — are required to attend a mandatory parent and student meeting on Monday, October 20th, from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM in Seaforth’s main gymnasium.

We’ll cover important information about the upcoming season, expectations, and program details for all student-athletes.

🧩 The Glue Guy: Why Every Great Team Needs One:

A wise coach once told me this: “Every team has scorers, but not every team has someone who holds it all together.”

That line stuck with me — because it’s true in basketball, and it’s true in life.

In our Seaforth Basketball program, we call that person the glue guy. He’s not always the loudest voice or the leading scorer. But when he’s not on the court, something feels off — the communication drops, the energy dips, and the team just isn’t the same.

The glue guy does the little things that most people overlook: he dives on the floor for a loose ball, sets a hard screen to free up a teammate, talks on defense, or picks up a teammate after a mistake. He’s not chasing highlight plays — he’s chasing wins.

Last season, one of our players quietly took on that role. He wasn’t in the starting lineup, but his presence changed everything. He hustled every possession, encouraged his teammates, and never once complained about playing time. By midseason, he had earned everyone’s respect — not because of points, but because of impact.

This is what we strive to build at Seaforth — players who understand that leadership isn’t about attention, it’s about contribution.

Because at the end of the day, great teams don’t just have stars — they have glue.
