Let’s stay locked in!

Stay Locked In:

As you’ve heard, there will be no school on Mon (2/2) or Tue (2/3). Because of that, we’ll have important Zoom meetings on both days to stay connected and prepared.

Our goal is to be back in school by Wed (2/4) so we can get back in the gym and continue our work in person.

Interruptions like this are part of the season. What matters is how we respond. This isn’t an excuse to lose focus — it’s an opportunity to get better. Teams that stay engaged during moments like this are the teams that are ready when it counts.

Be fully locked in to everything we have this week, especially on snow days. If we handle Monday and Tuesday the right way, we’ll have two productive Zoom sessions and be ready to go when we’re back in the gym Wednesday.

I’ll keep you updated if anything changes. Until then, stay focused and be ready to work.

12 Days Left:

We have 12 days left in the regular season.
Four games. All conference games.

Everything we’ve worked for since June comes down to how we handle this stretch.

The focus is simple:

  • JF Webb & South Granville
  • Orange
  • Cedar Ridge

From here on out, our habits matter more than ever. How we practice. How we prepare. How we hold each other accountable. Championship teams don’t ease up — they tighten up.

Snow days don’t slow us down. During Zoom calls, we will stretch, train, study film, reset goals, clarify roles, build culture, and sharpen leadership. This is preparation, not downtime.

This isn’t about who we’re playing. It’s about who we are and how consistently we show it.

Twelve days. Four opportunities.
If we handle this the right way, the banner takes care of itself.

Let’s finish strong.

7 Constructive Things to do During a 48-hour Snow Shutdown:

1. Take Care of the Body

  • Complete daily stretching and mobility
  • Stay loose, hydrated, and recovered
  • Prepare your body to play, not just participate

2. Train With Intent

  • Complete assigned at-home workouts
  • Focus on quality reps and effort
  • Train like minutes and wins matter

3. Study the Game

  1. Watch film (self or opponent)
  2. Lock in on transition defense, shot selection, and body language
  3. Ask: Does this help us win close conference games?

4. Take Mental Reps

  1. Visualize offensive and defensive assignments and reads
  2. See yourself responding the right way after mistakes
  3. Prepare your mind before pressure arrives

5. Reset Goals & Embrace Your Role

  • Identify one habit you must bring every night
  • Identify one habit that cannot slip
  • Know how you help this team win — regardless of minutes

6. Lead & Stay Connected

  • Reach out to a teammate
  • Encourage, check in, reinforce standards
  • Leadership doesn’t stop when practice does

7. Stay Disciplined Off the Court

  • Sleep 7–9 hours
  • Eat with intention
  • Limit distractions
