Weekly Basketball Tip:
Consistent Shooting Form: Focus on having a consistent shooting form, especially with your hand positioning and follow-through.
Practicing form shots every day builds muscle memory, making your shot more reliable under pressure.
Bare Minimum:
Back in my college days (1985 – 1990), I had a classmate and associate, named Bucky.
Through those years, Bucky always looked for ways to cheat the system. For instance, in every class we took together, he looked for ways to game the system (instead of putting in work by studying).
Such things include (but not limited to) cheating during exams, not attending classes (purposely) then obtain class notes from others, stealing (or getting access to) exam prior to it being administered by professor, etc.
Once Bucky was able to accomplish (an act of) gaming the system, he would say to me, BAMN!
BAMN means “By Any Means Necessary”. In other words, whatever Bucky needed to do to cheat, he figured it out and did it! This mentality stayed with him his whole life.
Ultimately, Bucky never received his college degree. But this didn’t stop him. He lied his way into the corporate working world (by stating on resume he obtained a college degree). To this day, he is a corporate project manager.
This is TERRIBLE!!!
Bucky is a person who always looked for shortcuts. He didn’t want to put the work in. He was straight-up lazy. I have NO respect for him.
In other words, to get ahead, Bucky only committed to doing the bare minimum.
Don’t be Bucky! Instead of doing the bare minimum, do the absolute maximum!
When you adopt a maximalist mentality, you’ll not only reach your basketball potential, but you’re also setting yourself up in life to be wildly successful.
